Adams State adds admissions staff to bolster enrollment efforts
KARA Gaffney Pettit was appointed Adams State University director of admissions to oversee undergraduate recruitment and admissions marketing, the university announced last week.
Pettit was previously the associate director of admissions at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, where she also served as an admissions counselor. Pettit earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in humanities from Bob Jones University.
Additionally, the admissions team hired Jarad Sanchez, Shania Maestas and Maddie Stouder as admissions recruiters.
On the graduate side, Jacek Jonca-Jasinski, Ph.D., was appointed Adams State University assistant vice president for Graduate Studies. His duties will include graduate recruitment and graduate-level program development.
“Dr. Jonca-Jasinski brings a wealth of hands-on experience and knowledge to Adams State at a critical time,” said Kent Buchanan, Ph.D., vice president for Academic Affairs. “The graduate program is highly successful with huge growth potential; Dr. Jonca-Jasinski brings a valuable presence in this academic spectrum.”
Prior to joining Adams State, Jonca-Jasinski was director of graduate recruitment and admissions as well as a data scientist at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
