THE Adams State University Hispanic Heritage Month celebration begins with the Custom Car and Bike Show and free Health Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, on the North Campus Green.

The events are free and open to the public.

Sponsored by Five Star Riders Car Club the car show will feature a chancla throwing contest, valve cover racing, awards ceremony, and the Maestas Slow Cruise Car Parade to Zapata Park (3:30 p.m., 9th St. and Bell Avenue). 

A free screening of the film “COINTELPRO: Symbols of Resistance” begins at 6 p.m. at Shooting Stars Cultural and Leadership Center, 807 Ross. Live music by the Sol Boyz begins at 7 p.m.
