Adams State plans vigil for Club Q victims
THE Adams State University Equity Board is hosting a vigil to honor the lives of the Club Q victims at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Student Union Building Mall Court. The board will provide tea lights and will ask participants to join in writing affirmation to support the LGBTQ+ community.
Five people were killed at the Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub on Nov. 19, during a shooting spree that lasted approximately six minutes before the suspect was stopped and apprehended. The victims included Ashley Green Paugh, a 2019 Adams State graduate. She is survived by her husband, Kurt, and 11-year-old daughter, Ryleigh.
The attack echoed a 2016 massacre that left 49 people dead at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fla.
