The Alamosa County Democratic Party is inviting local Democrats to take part in its 2026 county caucus and county assembly process.

In Alamosa County, registered Democrats will meet for their caucus on Saturday, March 7, at 10 a.m. at the Alamosa Recreation Center, 2222 Old Sanford Rd. County assembly delegates will meet on Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m. also at the Alamosa Recreation Center.

These meetings are where Democrats elect local party leaders such as precinct organizers, choose delegates, and vote on which candidates will appear on the June 30 Democratic primary ballot.

“Caucus and assembly are how everyday Democrats have a real say in what our party stands for and who represents us,” said Bob Rice, who serves as Alamosa County co-chair along with his wife, Regina. “This is where people in our community can step forward, get involved, and help shape the direction of Alamosa County Democrats and across Colorado.”

Caucus and assembly are open to registered Democrats and offers several ways to take part, including becoming a delegate, serving as a precinct organizer, or helping run elections as an election judge.

To help voters learn how the process works and find the right information for their area, the Colorado Democratic Party has launched a new statewide Caucus & Assembly website at Coloradodems.org/caucus. The site includes plain-language explanations of the process, key dates, and ways to get involved at both the county and state level.

To participate in the Alamosa County Democrats caucus and assembly, voters must be registered as Democrats by Feb. 13. To request accommodation, please use this link by Friday, Feb. 6.

Democrats who want to take part or learn more can visit Coloradodems.org/caucus or Alamosa County Democrats or contact the Alamosa County Democrats at AlamosaCountyDemocrats@gmail.com.
