Alamosa City Council meets Wednesday

The Alamosa City Council takes up a proposed nuisance ordinance and an emergency ordinance on new short-term rentals at its meeting Wednesday. Alamosa Citizen reporter Owen Woods wrote about the proposed nuisance ordinance in this report. The proposed emergency ordinance on short-term rentals came about after the City Council resisted an initial proposal which created “buffer zones” as a way to regulate the growing number of short-term rentals in the city. Still feeling a need to address short-term rentals, the City Council will look to put in place a moratorium on any new short-term rentals while city staff develop another full proposal for City Council to consider.

The full city council agenda is here.
