The Bureau of Land Management Rocky Mountain District has announced the selection of Dale Culver as the San Luis Valley field manager. Culver will oversee the multiple-uses management of a diverse array of public lands.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to be of service to this Valley,” Culver said. “The people here have a deep connection to the land and it’s truly an honor to help ensure that land is well-managed.”
“Dale comes to us from the National Park Service with extensive leadership experience – nearly a decade of which was right here in the Valley as the chief park ranger at Great Sand Dunes National Park,” said Rocky Mountain District Manager Cathy Cook. “We are truly fortunate to have found someone who is already familiar with our communities and has built relationships here.”
Culver attended Western Colorado University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation in 1995, and has since spent 27 years in the National Park Service.
