Donn Vigil resigns as RG BANK board chair
RG BANK announced Donn Vigil resigned as chair of its board of directors. The resignation was effective Oct. 7.
Vigil said he felt the bank “was in a great position” and the timing was right.
“Donn had a warmth to him,” said RG BANK President & CEO Shon Davis. “He was well known, well beyond RG BANK, with time served on boards such as the Adams State University Foundation Board and the Rio Grande Hospital Board. If you were with Vigil getting coffee or at an event, he had many people who wanted to come see him to visit and see their friend Donn.”

In 1979, Vigil started his career at RG BANK as the bank’s in- house real estate appraiser. After years as Chief Lending Officer, he earned his way to President/CEO of the bank and served in that capacity until his retirement in 2017. He was first appointed to the RG BANK Board in 2012.
RG BANK is headquartered in Monte Vista and has branches in Alamosa and Pagosa Springs. “A new chair of the board will be selected at a future meeting,” Davis said.
