Downtown merchants bullish on ‘First Fridays’ events
DOWNTOWN merchants in Alamosa are bullish on the “First Fridays” events established by Visit Alamosa. “First Fridays has been a great way to kick off each new month. Having a vibrant downtown scene at the beginning of each month really sets the pace for us. We love it,” said Mark Martinez, Brewer & Co-Owner Square Peg Brewerks.
The May 6 First Fridays event, coupled with the annual Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area’s annual Cinco de Mayo Block Party, will feature an array of special deals and events including “First Fridays Margaritas”, “Fat Fridays, Fat Tire”, and Mother’s Day specials.
The Market on Main in May will include: KZBR, Adams State University, DJ-E, OM Creations, All Bre’s Cakes & Bakery, Cloud Co Farms, Jennifer G Artistry, White Shell Mountain Ranch, Marcos Lobato, SLV Pride, and Jocelyn Catterson.
“First Fridays is the perfect place to engage with your community and support local business owners. It’s a place to meet many new wonderful artists, makers, and of course bakers!” said Brianna Ortiz, Owner All Bre’s Cakes & Bakery.
First Fridays take place on the First Friday of each month from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. through November. For more information or to get involved, visit alamosa.org/first-fridays.
