THERE is still time to register for the popular Colorado Master Irrigator sessions – but hurry, the deadline to register is Dec. 1.
The classes are limited to the first 50 people to register, with sessions scheduled for January and February. The Master Irrigator San Luis Valley program offers 32 hours of water law and administration, history of water development, and gives participants the tools and strategies to improve water and energy use efficiency and conservation. The program also teaches soil health and profitability on operations.
This is the second year the Master Irrigator program is being offered to San Luis Valley farmers and ranchers. Participants who complete the course will receive a $2,000 stipend.
