Valley teams head to Denver for High School Great 8
IN the world of Colorado high school basketball they call it the Great 8 round, and Alamosa High School finds itself in that bracket of the Class 3A state basketball tournament this weekend. The Moose will face Lutheran in a 1:15 p.m. tipoff on Friday, March 3, at the Denver Coliseum. The full schedule of games is below.
Meanwhile, the Sanford High boys team opens Class 2A regional tournament play against Haxtun on Friday, and in Class 1A regional play Sierra Grande faces Peetz and Sangre de Cristo plays Granada.
In Class 2A regional girls matchups it’s Center vs. Wiggins; Monte Vista vs. Wray; Del Norte vs. West Grand; Burlington vs. Sargent; and Sanford vs. Hayden. In Class 1A, Sangre de Cristo plays North Park, and Kit Carson plays Sierra Grande.
