Society Hall Concert
The Rifters perform at 7 p.m. at Society Hall. They’re looking forward to seeing as many of their Valley friends as can make it out – hope to see you there! If you can’t make it, the concert will be streaming on the Society Hall – Alamosa, CO Facebook page. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. The Rifters formed in 2002. The trio is Jim Bradley, Don Richmond and Rod Taylor.
Waverly Road Concert Del Norte
Wildwood Sounds in Del Norte is staging a Waverly Road Concert on Friday. The sound is a mix of roots music, funk, blues, R&B and rock. Tickets are $20 at the door. Call 719-657-4757 to reserve tickets.

NCAA Cross Country Championships
Gotta get up early if you want to watch Adams State cross country in the NCAA DII National Cross Country Championships in Tampa, Fla. The women’s race is at 8:30 a.m. ET or 6:30 a.m. Alamosa time, followed by the men’s race at 9:45 a.m. ET or 7:45 a.m. Alamosa time. Both races will be live streamed on NCAA.com.
Colorado High School football playoffs
Centauri vs. Buena Vista in Class 1A semifinal playoff game at 1 p.m.; Sanford vs. Mancos in an 8-man semifinal playoff game at 1 p.m.

Creede Chocolate Festival
Had enough turkey, now it’s time for chocolate. The annual Creede Chocolate Festival is Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The chocolate festival showcases samples of chocolate specialities created by local business owners and individuals. Eating your way around Creede will be easy — but casting your vote for the People’s Choice Award can be challenging!

Crestone Winter Fest
Venues across Crestone are participating in the town’s Winter Fest. You’ll find Santa making handmade treat bags, marshmallow roasting for kids, and pictures in Lori Sunflower’s Holiday Photo Booth. Check it out. The festival runs through Sunday.

Adams State Theatre holiday variety show
It is Christmastime and the Adams State University Theatre is excited to welcome audiences back for the in-person live holiday performance, Christmastime! Christmastime! The holiday variety show opens Dec. 3. Tickets are now on sale. Directed by George McConnell, Ph.D., assistant professor of theatre, Christmastime! Christmastime! includes dancing, singing, and comedy skits, to entertain audiences of all ages. Fast-paced and fun, the performance audiences are invited to sing-a-long during the Christmas classics. The run of Christmastime! Christmastime! is one hour and 20 minutes with no intermission. The show opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 and continues December 10 and December 11. A matinee is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12. The Adams State Theatre Box Office is open from 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and tickets can be reserved by calling 719-587-8499. Masks are required for all audience members.
2021 Del Norte Tour of Lights
Presented by the Del Norte Chamber of Commerce, take a tour of Del Norte businesses and homes as they light up the Upper Rio Grande for the holiday season. The Santa-guided tour begins at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3. Cars line up on French Street. Fireworks are scheduled for 7 p.m. Enjoy the show!
Holiday Bazaar Sacred Heart Church
Sacred Heart Church in Alamosa will have its Holiday Bazaar over two days in early December. On Friday, Dec. 3, the bazaar is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 4., the hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. You’ll find arts and crafts, a bake sale, and a white elephant sale.
Celebration of Lights
The city of Alamosa set Friday, Dec. 3, for its annual Celebration of Lights. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at Alamosa City Hall with the Adams State Brass Quartet and Clarinet Duo. At 6:30 p.m. will be the Illumination of City Hall followed by a Walk to Santa. Always good to plan ahead.
Monte Vista’s Christmas Celebration
Monte Vista will have its annual tree lighting and caroling at Fullwinder Park on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 5:15 p.m. Then at 6 p.m. it’s the Monte Vista Holiday Parade down Adams Street.
Saguache Holiday Bazaar
The Saguache Community Building is the location for the Saguache Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 3. Great way to start your holiday shopping.
