Youth-led walking tours scheduled for the weekend

THE Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area is organizing a series of youth-led walking tours for the Memorial Day Weekend.

On Monday, May 29, two walking tours will be held: The Hooper and Mosca Historical Tour will begin at 10 a.m. in downtown Hooper, and the Historical and Haunted Experience at Lafayette Head House tour will begin at 9 p.m. from the Conejos County Courthouse.

Then on Tuesday, May 30, there will be a Historical Costilla County Tour that includes visits to Jarosa, Mesitas and Garcia historic communities.

The tours are led by youth who have been trained to present historical information during the tours.
