Alamosa dominated the Class 3A Region 3 state qualifying wrestling tournament over the weekend. The Moose crowned six individual champions and qualified 13 wrestlers for the boys state tournament in winning Region 3 with 297.5 points. 

Jeremiah Delacerda at 106 pounds; Anthony Meder, 120 pounds; Uriah Martinez, 138 pounds; Daniel Martinez, 144 pounds; and Tony Griego at 150 pounds all won individual regional titles. 

Delacerda is the defending Class 3A champ at 106 pounds, while Meder and Martinez were state runnerups a year ago at 113 pounds and 126 pounds, respectively. Both have moved up a weight class in 2026.

On the girls’ side, Alamosa qualified five wrestlers, with Gizelle Meraz (115 pounds) and Samantha Maestas (120 pounds) each winning regional titles. Both Meraz and Maestas are returning state champs for Alamosa.

In all, 36 boys and 12 girls from high school schools around the San Luis Valley qualified for the state tournament, which will be held Feb. 19-21 at Ball Arena in Denver. Here is the complete list.
