The Adams State men’s team finished runnerup in the NCAA DII Cross Country Championships held Nov. 22 in Kenosha, Wis., while the Grizzlies women’s team was fourth place overall.

The Grizzlies’ Kidus Begashaw won the men’s individual title with a winning time of 29:28.8 over the 10K course, and Tristian Spence of Adams State captured the women’s individual title with a winning time of 20:11.0 over 6K.

Begashaw and Spence become the first runners to win the men’s and women’s NCAA DII cross country titles running for Adams State in the same year.

All of Adams State’s men’s and women’s runners finished in the top 100. The men’s field had 259 competitors and 262 runners in the women’s race.
