Adams State University continues its water education initiative by offering WATR 201: Water Fundamentals and Functions in January.
The course, WATR 201, is part of the university’s water studies minor and will be taught by local Division of Water Resources Engineer Kevin Boyle. This class teaches how to evaluate water rights, quantify water demand and consumptive use, and better understand how change of water right applications work in Colorado’s water court system. Class members will participate in real-life scenarios as they develop a water supply plan for a business proposal.
The course will meet from 4-5:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20, on the Adams State campus. Online options are available. In addition to being available to Adams State students, high school students seeking concurrent enrollment may enroll through their high school counselors.Â
Community members may audit the course for $165 to deepen their water knowledge and engagement in the vital issues around water. Scholarships are available to help offset course costs.
