If you’re attending the Adams State Fall Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 13, give yourself a few extra minutes to get through the university’s safety screening protocols.
Adams State will screen all attendees as part of its new security measures. The university added similar screening at its football games this year.
“Adams State University takes the safety of all students, faculty, staff, coaches, community members and visitors very seriously. Across the nation, acts of violence have threatened the health and safety of the public.
“Based on the recommendation by Adams State Police Chief Sam Maestas, the campus administration implemented the policy to perform security checks at all major campus events. Many NCAA schools have started security screening at major events.”
The fall graduation ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at Plachy Hall. The event will be livestreamed at adams.edu/live. Alamosa Mayor Ty Coleman is the commencement speaker.
