Adams State will celebrate its winter commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, in Plachy Hall. The Grizzly community welcomes Colorado state Rep. Shannon Bird as the commencement ceremony speaker. During this graduation ceremony Adams will confer 140 degrees including 45 Bachelors of Arts, 38 Bachelor of Sciences, 29 Master’s Degrees, as well as 28 Associate’s Degrees.
Bird recently won reelection in 2024 to the Colorado House of Representatives for District 29. Prior to running for The Colorado House of Representatives, Bird was an attorney. She earned a B.A in economics from University of Boulder Colorado, a master’s degree in finance and an M.B.A from the University of Colorado Denver. She graduated with a J.D. from the University of Denver and practiced law in Iowa. Bird was raised by her mother and grandmother. Her family later moved to Colorado.
Adams State’s fall semester wraps up on Friday, Dec. 13, with students returning for classes on Tuesday, Jan. 21, the day after Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
