Alamosa has been nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice for the best small-town cultural scene. Voting is open until April 1. Alamosa is among 20 other small towns in the nation to be nominated. A panel selected the towns, each with a population of 25,000 people or fewer.
Alamosa is the only destination in Colorado nominated in the small town cultural scene category.
“This nomination is a testament to the town’s vibrant and diverse community that celebrates and preserves its rich cultural heritage,” Visit Alamosa said in its announcement.
Voting is currently open and readers can vote once per category every day until Monday April 1.

“This is a significant opportunity for the residents of Alamosa and the surrounding San Luis Valley to come together and showcase Alamosa’s cultural offerings to the rest of the country,” continued Visit Alamosa.
“From colorful festivals and events to its thriving art and music scene, Alamosa has a little something for everyone. Its museums, galleries, and theater display the town’s history and passion for the arts, while its vibrant local food scene offers a taste of the traditional flavors and recipes passed down through generations.”
With the support of locals and visitors, Alamosa could be recognized as one of the top 10 cultural towns in America to visit.
