Alamosa High School’s graduation rate of 86 percent for the Class of 2025 exceeded the statewide graduation rate, according to figures released by the Colorado Department of Education on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the graduation rate for Alamosa Online School was 81.8 percent and Alamosa Alternative School was 72.2 percent, to give the Alamosa School District a blended graduation rate of 84.2 percent. The statewide graduation rate was 85.6 percent.
Alamosa School District is the largest in the six-county San Luis Valley.
“We are continuing our growth trajectory,” said Alamosa Assistant School Superintendent Luis Murillo in noting the gain in the district-wide graduation rate from 2024 when it stood at 78.8 percent.
State education officials touted gains in the statewide graduation rate, with the class of 2025 showing the highest graduation rate in a decade.
“Colorado’s graduation rate and dropout data show encouraging progress,” said Education Commissioner Susana Córdova.
