An anti-ICE protest and demonstration is set for Saturday, Jan 31, in downtown Alamosa and at the SLV Regional Airport. The organizers are calling on Key Lime Air to cut its ties with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The two-part protest will take place from noon-1 p.m. in downtown Alamosa and from 1-2 p.m. at the airport.

The protest and demonstration are being organized by the San Luis Valley Immigrant Protection Team, a chapter of Colorado’s Immigrant Protection Teams.

“Key Lime Air contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and owns Denver Air Connection,” the flyer for the protest reads. “This is our only option currently for flights in the SLV and we won’t tolerate funding cruelty! Join us, and other airports across the country in protest!”

Key Lime Air operates Denver Air Connection, which flies out of SLV Regional Airport. A request for comment from Key Lime Air was not received at the time of publication. A voicemail was left with a Key Lime Air communications specialist.

A Colorado Newsline investigation found that ICE had contracted with Key Lime Air to conduct detainee flights in September 2025. That month, Key Lime Air conducted at least 83 flights for ICE.

According to the ICE Flight Monitor report from the non-profit Human Rights First, U.S. immigration enforcement flights are carried out by ICE Air Operations, or IAO. Air Operations does not own planes, but contracts through the airline broker CSI Aviation, which then subcontracts with several other airlines, such as GlobalX, Eastern Air Express, Avelo Airlines, World Atlantic (Caribbean Sun), Eastern Air, OMNI Air, Kaiser and Key Lime Air.

CSI Aviation has a contract with the Department of Homeland Security that amounts to $562 million

Alamosa has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office at 1921 State Ave.
Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser has launched an online reporting platform for the public to file reports on misconduct, including federal agent misconduct.
