Are you interested in small-scale poultry production for profit? A Colorado Poultry Producer Class co-sponsored by CSU Extension and Rocky Mountain Farmers Union teaches the details of running a thriving poultry, agricultural enterprise. It includes what feed and coops are best, chicken first aid kits and marketing ideas. This class is for anyone ready to turn a backyard personal hobby into a small-scale business.
The class is Thursday, March 19, from 9 a.m-2:30 p.m. at the Ski Hi Complex, 2335 Sherman Ave. in Monte Vista. The presentation will be interpreted in Spanish, child day care is available on site, and lunch will be provided. Cost is $15 and there are a couple of scholarships available.
Participants can pay at the door, but please call today to preregister, so organizers can plan enough lunch and child care professionals on hand. Call the CSU Extension Office at 719-852-7381, or Larry Brown, 719-850-2139 and leave a message if it goes to voice mail. CSU programs are open to all without discrimination.
