Civic leaders in Pueblo are celebrating the groundbreaking for a $3 million elevator and renovation project that promises to enhance the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) accessibility and improve functionality at the popular Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center.

The new elevator and tower project is part of the Founders Forward Capital Campaign initiative and marks a major milestone in the commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and

artistic excellence at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center.

“This is more than a construction project – it’s a commitment to our community,” said Andy Sanchez, CEO of the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center. “It is the first step in a multi-year journey to reimagine and revitalize our campus through the Founders Forward Capital Campaign – honoring our past while building a more inclusive and inspiring future.”

Lead partners include Pueblo County, the city of Pueblo, the Robert Hoag Rawlings Foundation, The Jackson Foundation, Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority, The Ryals Family Foundation, The Mahlon Thatcher White Foundation, HGF Architects, Nunn Construction and Summit Brick.
