Trail Construction @ Greenie Mountain
Ready for a weekend of impactful outdoor stewardship work? Join Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado and approximately 40 volunteers (ages 16+) in building a single-track, multi-use trail. This project is at Greenie Mountain, 10 miles south of Monte Vista. Outdoor recreation is a growing economy in the San Luis Valley and your work will play a critical role in establishing and extending a sustainable trail system for visitors and residents alike.
Tasks on all sections will range from moving a thin layer of soil and clearing plants such as grasses, yucca, and cacti, to moving large rocks and boulders.
Perks of attending include: – Free campsites with a fun and social camp setting – A volunteer appreciation raffle – Breakfast and dinner are provided on Saturday as well as breakfast on Sunday. When: Sat June 24, Sun June 25/8 am-4 pm Where: 10 miles south of Monte Vista • Ages: 16+
