Our society is built upon a set of unwritten rules that govern what is seen as acceptable and who is valued. Those rules are put in place by the people, communities and organizations that hold power. But if the rules are (often) unwritten, how do they wield that power? In this recorded presentation, Tim Wise will walk us through how power operates in society, shapes injustices and creates disparities, and discuss what it means to recognize those systemic power structures and analyze their impact on marginalized communities.
