SLV Area Extension is hosting a Horse Care Workshop on Saturday, April 11, at the Ski Hi Complex. All horse owners and enthusiasts are invited to participate. Devan Catalano CSU Extension state equine specialist, and Curtis Crawford, SLV veterinarian, will present this program. Spanish interpretation will be provided.

“Other than the instruction offered by volunteer 4-H leaders to the youth throughout the years, there has never before been an education program like this for horse owners in the San Luis Valley,” said Larry Brown, San Luis Valley area director for CSU Extension.

The check-in for the event will be at 8:30 a.m., and the program will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all participants who pre-register. Cost of the program is $25, and there are a few scholarships available. The deadline for pre-registration is Wednesday, April 8. Once pre-registered, you are obligated for the fee unless cancelled by April 8. Call Larry or Jennifer at the SLV Area Extension office, 719-852-7381, to pre-register, or email L.Brown@colostate.edu and Jennifer.Vandiver@colostate.edu
