In the meantime, prepare your costumes, decorate your trunks, find a sturdy trick-or-treat bag, and plan to have a lot of fun.
Saturday, Oct. 21
- Halloween at the Farm Park
1-5 p.m.
Rio Grande Farm Park
Join the Farm Park, VEGI, Alamosa Bicycle Coalition, SLV Cooking Matters, Alpine Achievers, and local businesses and organizations for some holiday fun. Trick or treat from decorated trunks, truck beds, and trailers (the best trunk wins an epic prize!). There will also be a zipline costume contest, hay rides, pumpkin painting, bike rodeo, and food, drinks, and treats from local vendors. Show up for an evening of halloween fun, and vote on the best decorated trunk. $20 entry fee; winner gets a $100 prize. Sponsored by Alamosa High School Key Club.

- Fright Night at the Fort
5-11 p.m
Fort Garland Museum and Cultural Center
Activities include Halloween Carnival with food, games, and prizes and Haunted Museum Tours with guest storytellers. The night will end with a Ghost Hunting Tour led by the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area. Carnival runs from 5-8 p.m. Haunted Museum Tours run every 30 minutes from 6-7:30 p.m. Ghost Hunting Tour begins at 9 p.m. Tickets for both tours may be purchased at the Carnival
- Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Festival
4-8 p.m.
Fullenwider Park, Monte Vista
There will be games and activities for all ages and trunk or treating. Organized by the Mystic Valley Art Council, The Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce and the San Luis Valley Heathens.
