Adams State University will present “Latino Portraits of the FSA: Master Class in History, Identity, and Visual Narrative,” with Alberto Ferreras at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, in Carson Auditorium, located in the Student Union Building.

The event is free and open to the public.

The master class will explore the overlooked legacy of Latino representation in the iconic photographic work of the Farm Security Administration and the Office of War information during the 1930s and 1940s. Through a close examination of portraits taken by photographers Dorothea Lange, Russell Lee, and Jack Delano, participants will uncover the nuanced stories of Latino individuals and communities captured during a transformative era in American history.

Ferreras is an author and filmmaker. He is the creator of the HBO documentary HABLA.
