San Luis Valley Area 4-H is celebrating National 4-H Week (Oct. 5-11) with a Monster Moonlight Dash 5K Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 11.
“For those eager to test their mettle, an eerie 5K awaits. The event is held at dusk, perhaps under the moon’s ghostly glow. Out in the bone-chilling air of the haunted cotton wood you will have to find your way as the nearby river whispers its cold secrets. We dare you to come dressed to possess,” said organizers.
Registration is from 5-6 p.m., with a $25 per person fee; the event is free for children 5 and younger.
The race unfurls around 6:30 p.m., dusk time, at the same location in Del Norte that Rhythms on the Rio takes place, 12510 Hwy 112.
There will be dinner and music under the moonlight, with chili and baked potatoes for $10.
