The city of Monte Vista is accepting letters of interest to fill a vacancy on its city council. The 2025 municipal election did not produce enough candidates to run for Monte Vista City Council, creating a vacancy on the local governing body.
Monte Vista residents interested in serving for a term that runs from January 2026 to December 3030 should submit a letter of interest to City Clerk Unita Vance. The letter should outline qualifications and the reason for wanting to be on city council.
Place the letter in a sealed envelope and deliver or mail to the attention of Unita Vanca at the City of Monte Vista – City Council Appointment, 95 West 1st St., Monte Vista, CO 81144.
The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on Dec. 15.
