Long-time American Pika researcher Chris Ray is the latest guest on the Outdoor Citizen podcast. She’s been studying the small mammal that mainly lives in the talus rocks of the Rocky Mountain alpine terrain for 40 years and just doesn’t want to stop. As the lead author on a paper published in the journal Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research highlighting the decline in American pika numbers due to a warming climate, Ray gives us her insight into the conditions pikas live in and her experience spending much of her time in the alpine.Â
