RG BANK announced two promotions this week – Joel Polkowske to assistant vice president of Mortgage & Consumer Lending and Chad Bagwell to assistant vice president of Commercial & Agriculture Lending.

Polkowske will be more involved in loan officer development, loan growth strategies and become RG BANK’s leader in home lending programs. He will also continue working with customers on home and consumer loans out of the bank’s Alamosa Office.

“Joel has been a leader for RG for over a decade,” said Shon Davis, president of RG BANK. “He does a great job connecting with customers. This new role will allow Joel to have an even broader impact on RG’s products and services to help our customers.”

Polkowske joined RG BANK in 2013, focusing on mortgage and consumer lending. He was promoted to Alamosa branch manager in 2020. A San Luis Valley native, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance from Adams State University.

“We get to see the tangible results of the work we do by the new homes being constructed, businesses being expanded or started, individuals realizing the goal of home ownership,” Polkowske said. “It is great to be a part of that process and that success with RG BANK.”

Bagwell, who joined RG BANK in early 2024, has shown an impressive understanding of commercial and agriculture lending, said Davis.

“Commercial and agriculture lending can vary greatly from loan to loan,” said Davis. “Chad has a strong ability to recognize those differences and work toward a loan plan that can best help a customer.”

Bagwell is a San Luis Valley native. He graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in

Business Management. As assistant vice president, Bagwell will continue his current duties in lending out of the Monte Vista Office, while adding more responsibilities in management of the commercial and agriculture loan portfolio, policy development and loan growth.

“Working with true friends every day as we help our neighbors,” said Bagwell when asked what it means to work at RG. “I find great pleasure in solving issues and discovering answers to the questions we all have.”

Polkowske and his wife, Wendi, are parents to Kasyn, Conlee, Keagan, Cooper, Kolbie and CallieMae. He serves on the Adams State University Grizzly Club Board, and enjoys hiking and other outdoor adventures and coaching his kids in wrestling.

Bagwell and his wife, Aubrey, are parents to Clay. He enjoys his cattle ranching operation, riding dirt bikes, fishing and hunting.
