Sherry Waner, chief development officer at First Southwest Bank, was a recipient of the 2025 Bankers of Distinction Award by the Colorado Bankers Association. This recognition honors individuals who demonstrate “exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to their organizations and communities.”
Waner has 32 years of banking experience and specializes in developing innovative public-private partnerships and constructing complex capital stacks to support economic development, Colorado Bankers Association noted in its recognition of her.
As chief development officer at First Southwest Bank, a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), “Sherry has played a critical role in helping bridge the financing gaps for underserved businesses and communities across Colorado.”
In addition to her role at First Southwest Bank, Sherry is the co-founder and CEO of HelloBello, a tech platform designed to streamline the lending process. Her work in entrepreneurial ecosystem building and resource development further highlights her commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth and financial inclusion.
