Phil Weiser, the Colorado attorney general and gubernatorial candidate, will host a community meeting in Alamosa on Thursday, Oct. 9, as part of his statewide “Fight for Colorado” tour.

The Weiser campaign said he will preview key elements of his policy platform and give an early look at his priorities in his bid to be governor.

“Listening has always been central to Weiser’s leadership style, and this tour reflects his belief that the best policy ideas come directly from communities on the ground. In this region, issues such as public lands, outdoor recreation, rural economic opportunity and workforce development, as well as climate change resiliency are expected to take center stage,” the campaign said in announcing the Alamosa meet-and-greet.

Weiser will make a 45-minute stop at Milagros Coffee House beginning at 1 p.m. He will start his daylong Oct. 9 tour of the region with a stop in Buena Vista, followed by the Alamosa meeting, and then on to Durango for an evening event.

Weiser and U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet are vying for the Democratic nomination for governor in the 2026 election.
