Barbara H. McLachlan is the CDOT District 8 Transportation Commissioner. McLachlan is a fourth-generation Coloradan who lives in Durango, which means a lot of driving to get around the state. She taught high school English for 20 years, then served as a state representative from House District 59 for eight. Her column will run quarterly: January, April, July and October.
